I thought the game would be, but it’s pretty one-sided. If only there was some other program on, maybe about cars or something. Oh well.

I’m watching the Louisville/ Houston game on DVR. I prefer college to pro.

Oh. Are you kids watching TV on one of those new fangled “computer” gizmos?

My boys have been bingeing on Avatar (Air Bender, not the movie).

I’ve gone super high tech. I put the intrawebs on my television set.

Can you do that with rabbit ears?

Probably, but that’s above my skill set.
In addition to the ultranets on my TV (I bought an internet capable blue ray player for $65ish and ran a network cable to it), I have it hooked up to an old fashioned big ass aluminum antenna in the attic above my porch. I cut the cable almost a year ago.

No, but I heard there is a pokey little motoring show being broadcast on Amazon video.

Nah, but the Keith Richards doc on Netflix is damn cool.

I’ve been talking about cutting the cable for years. Just can’t quite get my head around how to make it work. Might go with Sling TV. We’ve been Dish customers forever.

Between Netflix, Amazon Prime, You Tube (all of which come through my blue ray player), plus the antenna I’m never without something to watch. There are things I can’t watch anymore that I miss, just not enough to make to worth paying that big bill every month. I considered Sling TV, but couldn’t ever find a definitive list of what channels they have, so I decided they weren’t going to be worth it to me either.
It’s really a simple cost-benefit analysis. If I was huge into watching live sports or something, it probably would be worth it to me to pay for cable/satellite. You the amount I was using the cable though, it just wasn’t worth it.

My biggest hangup has been live sports, since that’s really all I watch on TV (that, and Wheeler Dealers and Fantom Works). Sling now offers ESPN/2/3, Fox Sports 1/2, and NBCSN, which shows F1 and rugby. That alone should solve my sports problems, so I think I’m ready to make the jump. Sling will cost about $40/mo, and we’re paying well over $100 right now for Dish.

If you can cover your sports that way, then that’s an easy $60 to put in your pocket every month. That’s $500 a year.
